In Gabon

By decree of June 6, 2000, the Council of Ministers classified Tabernanthe iboga as a national treasure of Gabon. Its cultivation, transmission and ritual use are protected.

In France

Ibogaine (the active principle of the root) is on the list of poisonous substances and its use is restricted. The plant itself remains a particular case. Recent legal advice is recommended before any import.

In the United States

Ibogaine is listed as Schedule I. However, ibogaine clinics operate legally in Mexico, New Zealand, Brazil and South Africa.

Ebando framework

The initiation takes place entirely in Gabon, within a protected cultural and legal framework. No product is exported. Ebando cannot be held responsible for the legal choices that visitors will make upon their return to their country of origin.
